Who are the people behind Handies? Next up is Taavi Välling, who joined the team last summer as a Project Manager. Before that, he was responsible for the construction work of North Estonia Medical Center (Estonian: PERH), Finnish commercial television station MTV3 main building and Estonia’s first Zero-energy skyscraper.

In his current role, he takes care of the planning and implementation of complex in-app projects. Read how Taavi found his way to Handies and which project has been his favourite so far.

Why did you choose to work at Handies?

I joined Handies last summer. After years of working in construction, I was fascinated by Handies’ concept, its simplicity and the people behind it all. For me, working at Handies is a whole new career path. Having mainly experience as a Construction Manager, I now have the possibility to take upon new and exciting tasks.

How would you describe Handies work culture?

Working at Handies differs a lot from my previous work experiences. There is no place for throat cutters, who only care about the profit and the speed, it`s achieved in. Instead, improving the process and its transparency are the goal at Handies.

The overall team spirit is inspiring! I appreciate the honest communication between each other and the determination and competence of my teammates. Thanks to that, I have been able to focus more on improving and analyzing the process on my side.

Which previous project is your favourite?

It`s definetly the construction work done at Siim’s home. He has been in a wheelchair over ten years and his home needed some adjustments. Onsite Handies Tasker was Tõnis, who works under Eesti Varahaldus.

We installed a climbing wall for physical therapy, finished window and door sections, changed the terrace and facade covers and there is still work to do. It`s a wide-range project, where quality and customer satisfaction come first!
