That is the whole idea behind Duuabl. The crews did the work. One person ran the office. The office never had to grow.
Where this comes from
Before Duuabl, we ran a B2B construction company in Tallinn. It worked under framework agreements with public institutions: the city, hospitals, universities and state real estate. Over three years it built a portfolio of €130M+ in marquee contracts.
You would expect a company like that to have a back office full of people. It did not. It had one manager, a phone and a laptop.
What that one person did
The office work in a construction company does not disappear because the company is small. It just lands on someone. In our case, one manager handled:
- Quotes and pricing for every job
- Scheduling crews and subcontractors
- Keeping customers updated
- Extras and changes, agreed before the work was done
- Invoices, and following up on the ones that were not paid
- Insurance, certificates and the paperwork institutions ask for
It worked because the information was structured. Every job had one place where its quote, its changes, its photos and its money lived. Nobody searched through messages at 9 pm.
What we noticed
The crews never needed an office of their own. The office scaled with one person. The work scaled with the crews.
Then we looked at the small contractors around us: the painters, electricians and plumbers we worked with every week. Most of them had no office at all. The owner was the office. Quotes got written at the kitchen table. Invoices went out on Sunday. Extras were agreed on site and forgotten by the time the bill was due.
They were good at the work. The office was costing them their evenings and part of their margin.
So we built the office
Duuabl is the office for small construction and renovation businesses, run from a phone. It does what our manager did, without the typing: you talk, snap a photo or film it on site, and AI turns it into the quote, the extra and the invoice. Every job stays in one place from quote to paid, extras get approved before the work starts, and reminders go out so you do not have to chase.
We built it for the last person in the chain: the one who does the work, and who pays when a change made higher up was never written down. With Duuabl, every agreement, change and payment is on record, so the last person in the chain does not get screwed.
You do the work. Duuabl runs the office.
