Today, we are changing our name from Handies to Duuabl. The story of Duuabl began when we realised how much time and effort goes into finding a handyman (handyman = Handies). It seemed like the industry was built on long waiting times, high prices, poor customer experience and underpaid professionals.

Our new name reflects our potential, goals and vision where platform work means having a support system together with flexibility and fair pay. “When we first launched Handies we offered a handyman seeking service. But that was just the beginning. Since then, we have experienced a rapid growth in users, specialists and tasks. That has lead us to the next step of introducing new value propositions and features to our users and Taskers.“

For us, the word Duuabl symbolizes the cooperation of two people. Duuabl users are divided into two main groups: specialists, or as we love to call them, Taskers, and users who need help with household tasks or repair work. In order for the whole system to work, it’s necessary for both parties to show initiative and to work together.

Also, in case you didn’t notice, the name Duuabl sounds really similar to doable, meaning we are capable of getting things done.

Duuabl brings qualified specialists to your fingertips

According to the Foresight Centre, already around 7% (56 000 people) of Estonians are providing their services via some platform at least once a week. At the same time the industry is facing insufficient social protection, intense workload and low incomes.

„We aim to change that. Our goal is to create a dream workplace where social security and a support system meet flexibility and fair pay. When starting out as a Tasker at Duuabl, you can set your own hourly rate, regardless of demand, time or location. Not to mention other awesome benefits, that will be launched soon.“

Taskers are also a huge part of product development. „Whether it’s an administrative concern like registering as a company or reducing the license fee for more active Taskers – our role is to listen to the feedback and act on it. For example, we are just starting out with our first big construction and reconstruction projects, where Taskers also have a big role to play. While the project is lead by a Duuabl project manager, all the heavy lifting will be done by our Taskes.“

What will change for the users?

The already downloaded Handies and Handies Tasker apps will automatically change to Duuabl and Duuabl Tasker apps. There will be two main product groups for customers: Duuabl and Duuabl Works, depending how you use us.

However, the full transition to the new brand will take longer, as we are making some changes to the app and customer support system. “We are a good example of how the product is in constant development and is never really completed. For example, we are currently redesigning the ordering system and the process of creating a profile.“

New to Duuabl

Duuabl works with two apps – one for users (Duuabl) to find help and the other for Taskers (Duuabl Tasker), who are willing to lend a helping hand.

To become a Duuabl Tasker, download the Duuabl Tasker app from Google Play or App Store and set up your profile. But be warned, we also like to meet our Taskers face to face to get to know each other and give some advice on how to get the best out of Duuabl. You can also schedule a meeting with our Community Manager.

To get help with your tasks, just download Duuabl app from Google Play or App Store and get access to over 2000 specialist in Estonia. To help you narrow down the search you can filter Taskers based on location or by the task in mind.

If you have trouble choosing the Tasker, you can always post the task description on the app wall. In that case, all the Taskers who have the required skillset and the desire to help you out in that specific field will be notified. It is also advised to give as much information about the task as possible and add some photos, because as you know, a picture is worth a 1000 words.
